Our School
Blue Springs Jiu-Jitsu was opened up in 1992 by Sensei Wayne Marble. Since that time we have dedicated ourselves to educating students in the martial arts. Originally, Sensei Marble only taught Missouri Jun Fan Gung Fu, an art of striking which he had studied under the direction of Dr. Myron Harbottle. Not long after this, he developed an interest in the art of Judo and began instruction with Sensei Mike Hillen. Soon Blue Springs Jiu-Jitsu was incorporating the throws of Judo in with the Gung Fu. After receiving his Black Belt in Judo and in keeping with the school's philosophy of continuous growth and improvement, he became fascinated with the art of Jujitsu. He studied Shingitai Jujitsu and received his Black Belt. By this time, the schools instruction had become very well rounded and included very good instruction in striking, throwing, and grappling.
Sensei Marble still wanted to learn more though and had become intrigued with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from the first time Royce Gracie entered the Octagon in the first UFC. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was really hard to find in the Midwest at that time, so he traveled when he was able. He received his blue belt from Royce Gracie in 1996, but was unable to travel to California on a regular basis to do more than that. Then in 2008 he was able to meet Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Master Renato Tavares and begin his studies again. He was promoted to black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Master Renato Tavares in 2017.
Additionally, Sensei Marble has always been interested in the art of Kali. Students of Blue Springs Jiu-Jitsu are now able to study the art of Kali (stick and knife fighting) studying under Ty Campos. Kali is a very effective and versatile martial art using sticks and knives as weapons.

Sensei Marble currently holds these ranks:
Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
4th degree Black Belt in Judo
4th Degree Black Belt in Shingitai Jujitsu
3rd Degree Black Belt in Missouri Jun Fan Gung Fu
Level 4 in Kali
